If this was a physics based dream there would be some causality involved. What were you doing to that snake before it bit you? If you were trying to use it as a massless, zero-stiffness, inextensible rope of negligible cross-section in some curious arangement of pulleys to lift a weight or to support some odd-shaped object in a gap between two buildings then it would most likely bite you as you tried to measure its angle with the horizontal or as you started winding it up on a capstan. In this case you may be better posting in the mathematics thread.
