How can I fix a bricked psp?

How can I fix a psp (power loss during software update) without sending it off to Sony. They charge a fortune and it takes weeks. I live in Sweden

I have a PSP and had the software update but nothing happened to me maybe it might help if you turn it off and on again? You might also try charging it.
