Why does the USA have so much poverty when it is not considered a third world country?

This country runs on people that live at or below the poverty line. It's a shame that such hard working people barely make enough to make ends meet. The cost of living continues to rise and corporations are too greedy to allow higher wages because they want to keep all the money for their top dogs. And that is what they are, lazy dogs. I've never known such a country with so many high paid executives that pretty much sit in meetings all day long, lunch at the most expensive restaurants, all at the expense of us hard working tax payers. I'm a nurse and our hospital didn't even give us a raise last year, but they bought 3 hospitals, took out ad space with the football team and hired a bunch of new doctors. It just goes to show that hard working honest people barely get a break and it creates that rift between upper and lower class.

Because poverty is relative.

What is considered poverty in the US is pretty good by most 3rd world standards. In America you can go by the public housing apartments, and everyone has an air conditoner, most people have cars and about every third apartment has a DISH TV set up on the balcony. In the 3rd world most poor folks don't even have electricity.

That's not to say American poor folks are happy or can pay all their bills or even have jobs. It is rough to be poor here. Sure there are people who can't make the welfare check or the paycheck stretch and run out of food towards the end of the month and wind up at the food pantry; but the little those folks get is still a lot more than lots of people in the 3rd world get. Yes there are some of people who go hungry in America; but in America even though the wellfare benefits that are given to poor people are considered pretty slim by American standards, they are still is pretty good by 3rd world standards.

In America if you earn $7.50 an hour you are considered poor, and it is hard to get by; but in the Third World you find millions of people trying to get by on $1 a day, or less.

There is a big difference.

Because poverty is relative. People living close to the property line in the U.S. have a standard of living roughly equal to the average person in europe. Germany for example, if part of the United States would be about like Arkansas, Mississippi or Louisiana.

The establishment of the poverty line itself is nothing more than a political tool and has no real meaning.

There are alot of factors with this. There are alot of undesirable people who're mentally challenged and might't discover a role, get a role or shop a role. There are alot of undesirable people who're addicted to unlawful drugs. they might't artwork a role, yet they might get funds for his or her drugs? There are alot of previous people who did not keep sufficient funds whilst they have been working and are undesirable now. Many undesirable human beings interior the USA of a had an probability to get a unfastened public guidance with the aid of excessive college, yet chosen to drop out of school and grew to become undesirable..Their selection. yet another subject is that the minimum salary interior the US is $7.40 5, that's $15,500 in keeping with annum in case you artwork 40 hours each week, which continues to be poverty.

Because we have Poverty Pimps like Mishy who will hold no one accountable for their actions and make any excuse imaginable for someone's poverty.

For example,

Illegitimacy Rates:
Black ~ 68%
Hispanic ~ 45%
White ~ 24%
Asian ~ 15%

Median Household Income:
Asian ~ $61,000
White ~ $51,000
Hispanic ~ $36,000
Black ~ $31,000

It is pretty darn clear what a major cause of poverty is, but no one will utter the word illegitimacy. That would be politically incorrect.
