When I turn on my hot water in my bathroom sink it sounds like the pipe is ready to take off flying or something. How can I fix it without having to call a plumber.

you are going to have to call a plumber. You have to much presurer in your system. You probably also need a presurer reducer valve out side by your water meter.

SOMETIMES TOILET TANK VALVES ARE LEAKING WITHOUT THE OWNERS KNOWLEDGE... THIS COMBINED WITH A SUDDEN SURGE OF WATER SOMETIMES CAUSES A LOUD WHINING SOUND. COULD BE A BLOCKAGE. YOU'LL PROBABLY GET ANSWERS THAT SAY "AIR" IF AIR IS IN LINES IT GETS PUSHED OUT BY WATER!
