mucus plug...as long as your not having contractions, leaking water, or water has broke "and you will know by a gush of water" then your not in labor. The brownish re-dish mucus discharge is what they call a mucus plug...

it could be any minute any day to a week or two. When you go in to labor. But for me!

My first child...I lost the plug at Friday 1pm by 5pm had contractions by 1am I was on my way to the hospital...Saturday morning there was a baby.

so good luck i hope the baby comes today. Pack your bags, get ready take a shower. Try to eat very light but push water...and wait and see.

as soon as you start getting contractions start walking as best as you can inside around the place...

wish you the best of luck any more questions IM me

There is an increased blood flow to the cervix the further along you are in your pregnancy, so when they are doing any type of vaginal exam or procedure, you are likely to have spotting (the reddish brown stuff). It is older blood. There is no way to know exactly when the munchkin will come. I stayed at 2 cm for about 2 months with my youngest daughter. I would suggest finding something to keep your mind occupied, or you will drive yourself nuts wondering will it ccome today, ooh was that a contraction? over and over again! lol. I took up knitting from a computer program in the public library just to keep my mind occupied with both babies! (good thing too since I was a full two weeks past forty with the first one and four days late with the last one.) Congratulations and good luck!

That reddish stuff is called bloody show, and usually it means that you are dilating. Because you had your membranes stripped yesterday, it could only be blood from broken capillaries due to stripping. When I was in labor, I never could feel actual "contractions." I just felt intense pain and pressure (especially when standing). If you begin to feel pains running down your inner thighs or more blood, you should get checked. It sounds like you are making progress. Good luck!

Reddish brown stuff is spotting from having your membranes stripped. If you are 100% effaced I would say it shouldn't be too much longer. You pain is from the baby sitting so low.

You are defintely in labor. I had 3 kids and this was the #1 sign that I was in labor every time!! Your baby will be here soon! Good luck with labor and do what ever you need to do to stay as comfortable as possible. Congratulations!!!!

it means you need to go to the hospital. I knew someone who had the same thing happen, come to find out she was leaking amniotic fluid and did not even know it. She got to the hospital in time
