as options, what do YOU do to make the sadness go away?

Thought I'd make it a little difficult by taking away the 3 answers people always give.

I'm not depressed, I was just wondering what other people do when sadness hits them. Then I made it harder by taking away the same things people always say.

Thank you for the sympathetic thoughts, but I'm okay, really.

(Alright, I still cry sometimes in the dark when I'm alone, are you happy now?)

watch a funny movie or some kind of comedy show OR go shopping (but that can be dangerous)

Finding your passion, the one thing that makes you want to get out of bed besides drugs, sex or alcohol; a yearning to make a difference in the world or finding something that lights your heart on fire such as a cause that helps the world.

An weird example is locally, where two sisters in the 40's that were depressed in general and felt their life meant nothing, but found a purpose by doing something small that meant a lot to other people in distress...they started a "Show Us Your Socks" campaign and asked people to donate socks for flood victims and hurricane victims and spent their own money to send the socks that they collected by bulk mail to help the victims. People that received them were very appreciative as that having warm, cozy feet was the next step to feeling like someone cared and things may be ok after all; I know, sounds hokey, but sometimes it really is the little things in life that someone does not have can make a big difference.

Find your passion, whatever it is, and give it to the world and you are not only giving to the, but yourself many times over!

I try to find one thing to hope for -- a vacation, dinner with friends, remodeling something -- and if a person can find hope, then sometimes it gives them something new to think about. You need to find just one thing in the future that you can focus on that will give you hope. Granted, it doesn't take all the sadness away. The healing just takes time...and sometimes, someone new to hope for. It'll be okay, sugar beet. You'll find love again.

You cant. Sadness is something you will eventually go away. But it will take a long time. I know been there as in death of a love one. It will get better. Sorry there is no cure for sadness and pain.

i dont know. tough question. as it is i'm a recovering alcoholic with no sex life. One substitutes the other. funny thing is i got more sex when i was a drunk. Its a question i'm pondering now. the one thing i have is an outstanding sense of humor. Maybe you and i should get together and just make fun of people. People make me laugh. Most are idiots!

Talk to my hubby and snuggle. Talk to my best girl friend. Put on worship music and pour my heart out to Abba Daddeee.
