no, after a few miles the motor will drain all the juice from the battery and die again. a way to tell if your alternator did go out is to start the car and then remove the battery. if the alternator is working fine the car will continue to run.

I absolutely do not think you can drive that long even with a brand new battery. Normally, It does not take long to replace an alternator.

no way, even a brand new battery will die soon. cheapest way to change an alternator is take it to an autoelectrican and ask for a change over alternator not a brand new one. you get a refurbished one at half the price and he takes yr old one and fixes it for the next person.

Sure, no problem....
I say go for it.....
What's the worst thing that could happen??
Break down in the middle of nowhere with a dead battery. So what. You can always hitch hike from there.
I'm sure no one will mess with your car while you're gone.
Then just pay the tow company $240 to tow it back home and have it done right for another $160.

I would say no! Instead of buying a new battery and hoping why not just buy an alternator and put it on. They aren't that hard to install.

It depends on what type of vehicle you drive ,if u drive a diesel vehicle then you can go on but if petrol vehicle then it is better to replace the alternator then move on.
