if you dont want to use a credit card, the best thing to do would be to click on "Redeem" under Quick Links in iTunes then enter the gift card number and it will allow you to set up an account with the gift card. this method is the only way that the gift card will be an option.

You definately do not have to give your credit card info...when I set mine up...I just skipped that part...and now if I want music I go to filelodge...b/c its free...or i buy those dumb itunes cards...
