Some 40 years IF concerted efforts were taken today. Of course, we still face years of debate, posturing, inattention to the priority nature of the problem, and, probably, crisis, before appropriate attention and resources are awarded to it.

It will take forever and a weekend. Even though the tree hugging Liberals want to push hardcore for alternative fuel sources, they do not want us building factories or plants that would allow us to produce those alternative fuel sources. To them that would be still polluting.

When the actual cost of the use and manufacture of AFS's becomes less or on par with fossil fuels the change will be extremely rapid anything else is BS Money is the only motivator in the final analysis.

Looking at the new Bush Budget it would take longer than 30 years, everytime a new alternative energy program is launced Bush cuts spending for it.

10 - 15 to get the ball rolling...additional 10 - 15 for full conversion. Government has to mandate the way and can't depend on the private sector to lead on this matter.
