Well that's much tougher than some of the simplistic answers here would seem to indicate. Like the thief, the liar, the druggie or alcoholic, once a person shows that they are willing to cheat on, betray and deceive others just to get a momentary thrill, no matter the consequences, you can see a certain personality or character weakness that, unless the person actually changes that flaw, will continue.

I cheated on my first two wives (to be fair, they also cheated on me) but now have been totally loyal to my third wife for over 22 years. I have never even felt the urge to cheat on her. (I also gave up drug use, handled my alcoholism and decided to live life as a completely honest and straight individual. You might say I was "re-born" in a non-Christian meaning of the word.)

I have all the benefits of that change: a wonderful wife and life partner, fantastic children, a large and warm extended family and a hugely satisfying life.

I changed, so it IS possible. I also have seen that many do not! If you you are dealing with a personallity that has shown itself to be dishonest in any way, you have every right to demand absolute proof that the person has changed for the better. (NEVER except ANY verbal promises or assurances!) Or you have every right to drop that person from your life faster than a hot brick!

False ... I cheated on my ex girlfriend with her cousin I am now married with 5 kids not to the cousin but to another women and I would soon die or better yet I would sooner kill myself then to even remotely hurt her emotionally like that . she is my world and in the job I work at I have numerous opts and each time I refuse it also depends on the person in the situation as well like I know a female who had a fu*k head for a husband and she couldnt stand being around him cause he had a short fuse with her and she cheated and now she is in a commited relationship with a awsome guy who treats her right and loves her to death ....

True. and even if a person can change the trust is gone. If you're cheated on time to move on. Let the cheater work on changing with somebody else.

People can learn from their experiences... of course lots of people don't, too... but it's neither true that you can never trust a cheater again, nor that you can say 'oh, he'll just do it once and then he's learned'. Just keep your eyes open!

False, it depends on what type of person it is. People cheat because they think that they can get away with it. But if a person starts tot hink that they cant get away with it anymore, most likely they will stop cheating.
