Underwear preferences have nothing to do with sexual orientation. What makes someone gay or straight is all about what gender of people they are attracted to. It all has to do with how you are born, not what underwear you wear. They are two separate preferences. A gay man could wear briefs just as much as a straight man could and a straight man could wear boxers just as much as a gay man could.

What makes a guy gay is if he is born that way. Some people do have judgments about underwear. For example, I'm pretty sure most straight women would be shocked if their boyfriend took off his pants and had a g string or thong on, and it wouldnt' be a good shock.

Actually the only long term effect is that it may change your penis shape.
It's all about what you are comfortable with.
As a gay man I wear boxers.
While my partner wears briefs. I'm sure other men prefer what they like according to the support they feel they need in the package area

No one should be considered homosexual just because of the underwear they wear. My boyfriend of one year (and counting) wears boxer-briefs because their comfortable... not because he wants to tell the world what his personal choice is. I think it's very silly to go around and judge people by what kind of underwear they're wearing... especially to judge their sexual orientation on something so trivial. After all, maybe it's just comfortable to wear to them.
