For e.g, if you wish Google to list your website, go to http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
Or you can wait for the spiders to get the meta tags who put @ the start of your pages.
Note: I don't use google. I use yahoo as search engine. I used google search as an example above. I'm no way a googler. Better be someone to shouts "yahoo!"

Get on all the major search engine directories. You can do this by submitting your URL yourself at google.com or yahoo.com, or you can do what I did. Hire an Search Engine Optimization marketing system. I use Submitnet.net. I went from 20 hits a month to over 100 per week. That's pretty good for a site that has been up only a year.

The most cost effective way is to BUILD your own traffic.....for FREE! That's what I am doing with my website. I'm now getting 1000 hits a day after 6 months (just a couple of hours a day) of building! You can see my information page at:
