Fernando Poe Jr. a good president? To start with he was not a good presidential candidate! Remember the incident he insulted a tv reporter from GMA 7 who was covering his campaign trail. Fernando Poe was on a small stage campaigning for a crowd and the GMA reporter was a few meter behind him taping a tv news report. Imagine the surprise of the tv reporter when Fernando Poe suddenly approached her from the back and poked the mic at her face. Fernando Poe later apologized for the incident but it was just the start. During a tv interview with ABS CBN's Ces Drilon who is considered among the best interviewers in the country was surprised how Fernando Poe left without any apologies because he did not like the questions. The last thing you would like to do is to insult media establishment. Also a LOT of Fernando Poe supporters were disappointed how he managed his election campaign. There were several instances his supporters waited several hours just to be disappointed.

Fernando Poe relied soley on his popularity and under estimated Gloria Arroyo's political strategy which was to win over the Mayor's, Congressmen and Governor's who had more access to remote villages. They were the foot soldiers of Gloria Arroyo who went to each Barangay and campaigned for her!

Politics is not like showbiz. You have to be diplomatic, sharp and compromising to survive the political arena.

What you have to consider also is the qualification of both candidates. C'mmon warrior as a child, even though Fernando Poe Jr. won the election, do you honestly think he has the knowledge to run a country?? Don't be too blinded with the cheating part. Even Poe's party is not really that innocent.

Look at the good changes in the country, it certainly was a lot better complared to the past president. Fo crying out loud, Poe had a heart attack. In respect to him, I don't really think he can cope up with the stress in the position if he already had a heart problem.

The difference in two candidates are way too different. Some people here just don't appreciate the good things that is happening with the country. It sure was really worst with the past president.

First of all, there is no concrete evidence that the president did not cheat in the last election. Everybody can make a phone call to anybody so why make that phone call a big deal? Did they proved something when they tapped the conversation? None! They (those who tapped the conversation) should be jailed instead because they invade the privacy of the individual.

Fernando Poe Jr., with all due respect to the late action star, is nothing but an action star. Do you want another Erap to rule the land? Hell no! All of us has some roles to play in this world. You can be whatever you want, but to be whatever you when you can't be whatever you want is kinda frustrating.

The Philippine Economy is now on the take-off. Please, avoid all those useless, un-proven, unsolicited thoughts. You and I and all the Filipinos has but one Philippines to be proud of. Wouldn't you be happy that in your lifetime, you see that the Philippines has been finally removed from the Third-World category? The Philippines is now categorized as a "Developing" country.

Warrior is a child is indeed a child. What's the evidence that the lady in the government ever cheated? I bet, you hate GMA's government, you hated Erap's, you hated Ramos', you hated Aquino's and you hated Marcos'. When will your hate for the government will ever subside? When will love, pride of the country and just being who you are, instead of hate rule your life? When that day comes, believe me, you will see good things in everything you see.

Hate is to satan as Love is to God. Would you rather spend your after life in heaven with love, than forever suffer with hate? It's about time you open your eyes. It's about time, you open your hearts. It's about time you open your minds.

There has never been an election in the Philippines where there was not some cheating or corruption. It has not been legally proven the President cheated in 2004. In the minds of those that want to remove the President she cheated, but it is normal for Filipinos to ignore facts, laws, contracts, treaties and their own Constitution when they do not agree with them.

Poe would have been on the same level as President Estrada. There are some in the Philippines who even say Estrada was a great President. Do You? Poe was not qualified to be the President of the Philippines. His supporters or the people that do not like the present President would like you to believe Poe was a Saint, but the truth is he was a womanizer and a drunk. The present President has the educational credential to be the President. The problem is not the President it is the Opposition that oppose everything she does regardless if it is good for the country or not.

The pesos is stronger than it was when she took office, of course she has had help due to the U.S. Dollar being weaker. She secured a promise from Saudi Arabia to provide the needs of the Philippines if an oil shortage comes, she has gotten the railroad fiananced by China back on track, she is making progress in getting the new Internatioanl Airport opened, she understood that honoring the Visitors Forces Treaty was important to "ALL" International relationship when she knew it would not be popular at home, she realized the importance of increasing the VAT knowing it would create problems for her, she has gotten an increase in minimum wages for overseas workers, she managed to protect the Philippine workers during the Lebanon crisis, she prevented a coup similar to Thailands that would have destroyed the Philippine economy, she brought the Philippine troops back from Iraq knowing the U.S. would not take kindly to her actions, she has been able to remove some of the tarnish that the International Governments and Foreign Investors had for the Philippines, the business atmosphere is better than it has been bringing in many needed dollars in Forreign Investments and her list of accomplishments go on.

She certainly could have accomplished much more if the Senate would get off their back sides and spend more time on legistlation sent to them by the House rather than spending all their time trying to attack the present Administration. She could also do more if she did not have to contend with the emotional outburst of the people that blindly follow the Opposition into the streets.

Philippine politicians are corrupt because a lot of Philippine citizens are corrupt. It is a cultural thing. If you think it is alright to bribe a policeman in order not to get a ticket you are corrupt. If you think it is okay to pay a fixer to get better service you are corrupt. If you think it is okay to bribe to get a permit or contract you are corrupt. If you are a teacher and force your students to purchase supplies from you then you are corrupt. If you do not want corrupt politicians stop voting on emotions and begin to vote on facts. Stop participating in corruption yourself and begin to view all corruption as evil. The good Philippine Cardinal says it is time for a "Character Change" perhaps the Church should begin to teach its people to respect laws, treaties, contracts, Constitution and teach them "ALL" corruption is wrong regardlesss if it benifits you, family or friends. Of course the Church would have to begin to obey all the laws themselves.

Poe was as corrupt as any other politician in the Philippines and he certainly was not as qualified as the present President.

He'd be about as good as the last moron who used to be an actor.
Gloria, at least has government and politics in her blood, and who gives a damn if she cheated or not, she's about the best bet for confidence in this country that you have.
Without stable government, no outside nation will ever consider this place a safe bet, hence the poverty and drain of more intelligent humans to other parts of the world.
If Filipinos woke up and did some decent hard work and pulled themselves out of their situations, instead of blaming the government for all their woes, then things might change here
Support your President and stop bloody moaning about everything, it's up to the people to create a better country for themselves.
Why don't you all start by donating one peso more for each useless text you all send each day during work hours, that would contribute at least 40,000,000 pesos a day towards government spending.
I don't actually understand why Gloria hasn't introduced more tax on this, it would immediately stop half the texts, increase work efficiency and provide a massive improvement in the empty money coffers of this country.

Of course, you'd all jump up and down and revolt, which would be my proof that no-one really wants to give up anything towards improving the overall capability of this country to join the rest of the world, especially Asia, all of whose countries are streaming ahead of this one in investments, tourism and modernity

The late Fernando Poe Jr. is a very good actor... but it doesn't mean that he is qualified to be a good president of the country. It's pathetic that some pinoys think otherwise.

I am sorry but warrior is a child... here is blinded by the bright stars of movie celebrities. How could he ever be a good president if he was only good in front of the cameras. He lived in a make-believe world. He was far from reality. Does he know about climate change, inflation, balance of payments, international trade, diplomacy? Had he a full grasp of the cultures in Central and Southern Philippines, especially our brother muslims? Does he understand the sentiments of the different indiginous groups? Can he maintain his own point of view against his would be cabinet members, advisers, and consultants? Would his friends in the movie industry keep away or ask for juicy positions in the government, following erap's motto of "weather-weather lang yan"?
What would his priority be considering there are millions of hungry Filipinos? Would he spend all govt funds to feed these millions? Are we really sure that he will not follow the foosteps of erap who stepped down from the presidency unceremoniously.
Do we see here that his only purpose to become president is to give erap presidential pardon before he steps down?
Would he live longer in Malacanang being barraged by militants, political opposition, when he can't even breath by the mere issue of cheating alone.
What was his program solution to the peace and order situation in Mindanao? Can he be a Filipino first and Pangalatok second?
What are his strategies towards armed rebels? NPA and military?
What are his economic framework ? Is it long term or short term that people will benefit only during his term and never mind the future?

If he dreamed of a better Philippines, we all do.
The Presidency is a serious matter and we must give respect to whoever sits in Malacanang Palace.

We are CHEATERS. We learn cheating in school from elementary grades to college. We cheat even in our medical records, school records and office records.
We cheated the people of public service by going out from office
on personal purpose using govt vehicles.

Because we are all cheaters, we also question who really ever won in an election, from presidency down to barangay coucilman.

sorry but they all cheated.. yeah even fernando poe, just not enough to make him win the elections.. maybe not him perse, but the people who wanted him win..

maybe fernando poe would be a good president since he cares about people but being a president does not require just that.. his intentions maybe are genuine but the people backing him up are not.. he doesn't have enough experience so of course he would rely on those people who does..
