To make those people happy...is that you are obligated...or what is other reason?
P.s I'm writting an essay about gifts...that's why I need some opinions.

As cliche as this sounds, I usually give gifts to let people know I care about them. Sometimes I give random gifts for no particular reason. A few years back, I went to visit my friend at home and she has a sock obsession. The week before, I went to the mall and saw some christmas socks and thought she would really like them so I bought them for her! A few weeks ago, my friend passed her driver's license so I baked a cake for her and decorated it with a toy car and a road. I don't know why I like giving gifts, but I like making others happy. =)

I give gifts to make people smile, and I always add a personal touch....it's all about personalizing something for me, and if I don't know someone well enough to give them a truly special gift, I bake them cookies instead :)
