If you are convicted of a misdemeanor (as opposed to something like DWI), are there any longer-term implications? I.e., do you have to disclose it to a prospective employer, a landlord, etc.?

I don't think so...the question is usually "have you ever been convicted of a felony?" but just to be on the safe side, contact a lawyer. Unfortunately the lawyer i work for is not here today but as i said i don't think that information can or will be disclosed!

Don't sweat a misdemeanor. As stated the question is generally "Have you ever been convicted of a Felony" some do ask if you have ever been arrested though the legality of this is questionable. Misdemeanors can be expunged from your record according to the type of violation and the statutes of a given juristiction.

It will definitely show up on a background check, so if the employer asks about it, and you don't disclose it, you could miss out on the job for falsifying your application.

If they ask about felonies only, you can leave it off, if they ask about all crimes or misdemeanors, you need to disclose it.
