"The Serpent and the Rainbow". It's about this antrophologist who is sent to Haiti to find a drug that puts people in a state of perpetual death (zombies). Also, there's a extreamly graphic scene where Bill Pullman gets tortured in the most horrible way and then buried alive. It's pretty great, actually.

More:

The Changeling
The Exorcist
The Omen
Silence of the Lambs
The Wicker Man
The Brood
The Thing (1982)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Both the '56 and '78 versions)
Jaws
The Little Girl Who Lived Down the Lane
Alien
Aliens
Cape Fear (1962)
Night of the Hunter (1955)

Even more (scary):

Dead Ringers (David Cronenberg, 1988): Nothing like two twin brother gynecologists who go insane.

M (Fritz Lang, 1931): A little dated, but nothing creepier than seeing Peter Lorre's shadow trail off screen with an 8 year old girl.

Misery (Rob Reiner, 1990): I would not like to be tied to a bed by Kathy Bates.

Manhunter (Michael Mann, 1986): Based on the novel Red Dragon. Far superb to that half-*** remake a few years ago.

Seven (David Fincher, 1995): I'm assuming most people have seen this, but damn, it's scary.

Have a great time! Boo! Enjoy!

All of these will seriously have ye jumping into each others arms and believe me, they are very very scary and its hard to scare me. Rent out one of them at least. Trust me, these are the best.

I think you should watch a horror movie with some romance if you and your BF are watching it. I'd try Hide and Seek, though. I love that movie!
