Hi all, I have a 80GB ipod and I have both an itrip and a cassette adapter for my ipod. I jhave used both on my car stereo and the sound quality is rubbish!! At first I thought it was the cassette but then I tried it with my itrip and the same problem happend. Then I thought ok, maybe it's my car radio but when I use my itrip indoors, the same sound problem happens. The actual problem is to do with the bass on most songs. When a song is basey (most songs are, i'm not talking heavy stuff, things like rnb) and sound muffs up. I've also tried to change the EQ settings on my ipod and it makes it worse. Can anyone help, please?!

I have 2 thoughts....
first, set the eq. settings on the ipod to 'none'.
second, select all your songs (wowzer!) and when you right-click for 'get information', there is a place where you can set the eq. setting for the selected songs.
so, you *could* have changed the master eq. to less bass, but the song was still playing that way.
Lastly, when the ipod is playing, set your volume (on the ipod!) to about 1/2, and make it louder on the radio side. This can have a dramatic effect on the sound quality.

I also have 2 suggestions.. try what that other person said first, and if that doesnt work I would try buying the "Belkin tune fm" I have this and it works flawlessly. All you do is pug it to your ipod, then to your cig. lighter and it charges while you play, and you just slect a sation that has nothing broadcasting. The sound quality is allsome, and you can turn it up with bass and everything. It is nominated for the best car adapter for 2006-7. Its around 30dollars at most though. And for indoors theres a cord were you plug it in the top of the ipod and it converts it to a cable for your tv,stero, etc with the red/black wires. That is also crystal clear for me too. But if your not willing to pay for that, then you can adjust the settings and stuff like he said. A tape adapter is never really good in quality anyways....i have XM radio on a tape adapter and you can here the tape. Anyways hope i helped any and good luck....
