I had a 300m and it was a great car, however reliability is another question. I did not consider it to be reliable, I had several issues with it. I also felt it was not economical

One Tex, Fiat is only getting 35% and Second the UAW is getting 55% if the Judge approves the Chapter 11 and 11 only allows the company to restructure its debt. So in your thinking the UAW is the greed and American. And as far as parts, All parts are not made is a Chrysler warehouse a lot of outside vendors makes parts for Chrysler. Hences that is why a debt restructure (chapter 11) And even if Chrysler completely shut down and the UAW cashes out the out side vendors still have stock and other companies will look at this as a opportunity to make part for Chrysler cars and trucks to meet the needs of the consumer Availability of spare parts may be affected a little but will not just stop

Chrysler is currently a great car manufacturer, and best quality out of the three American. I have owned 3 current model town&countries and a 2006 Dakota and haven't had any problems with any of them, never touched them. My father has a 98 ram with 250000 on it and only replaced the fuel pump. It is hard to say really, but with any car manufacturer you can get a lemon. Chrysler has been especially good since the Benz take over. Alot of current Chryslers like the 300 are like buying a lower end Mercedes, they have alot of German engineering in them. Also their vans are ranked #1 in initial quality and have front and side 5 star crash test ratings. My entire family has Chrysler, my aunt is a CEO for them and my uncle is a UAW worker and they get a new lease every year. They have had crossfires, 300's, caravans, commanders, liberties, Cherokees, and many more and never had any problems with them. The only one I know of is my other uncle has a 96 ram and there isn't anything he hasn't replaced on that truck, it was a lemon. Chrysler also has price advantages over the competition, they are much cheaper starting prices and you can get a loaded car for the same price of a entry level foreign car. It really depends on how you look at it, but I love Chrysler and would never buy anything else. GOOD LUCK!!

This hard to really answer. Many will say it a good car and many will say it is not a good car. I have owned a few Chrysler vehicles and in my opinion was not pleased with them. Except a 1948 Flat Head 8, oh, wait, that was a Pontiac Silver Streak. Well I guess "Every" Chrysler I had was not without problems, including a 1970 Roadrunner.
What you can do is Research the top 10 most stolen vehicles and read why!! Most times they have Toyota and Honda in the numbers and if you notice, many times they be older models. The reason being, they say, the cars are very dependable and people hold on to them. This causes used parts including Body Parts to not be available and the cars are stolen to sell for parts.
If you notice in the link, Chrysler not there. This usually your Ten Best cars/trucks to buy. BUT, they also the Ten Best to be stolen. :-p At least with a Chrysler you not have to worry about anyone stealing it. Ha!

Let me preface this by saying that they have come a long way, especially since they merged with Mercedes. But here is the kicker........I would only buy the cars with the German Engineering known to be used on them, i.e., The Pacifica (which had I not gotten a divroce, would still own! I loved that car) or the 300. Those are strictly cars built with all the german parts of a mercedes. As for the Vans, I would steer clear. They have alot of work to do when it comes to them and their cars I am not too keen on, although I did see the new Sebring and it looks cool. But be alert as well. If you do choose the Pacifica or the 300, all the parts to fix them are more expensive becuase they are modeled after their German counterpart. Just to give you an example, I had the air filter replaced in mine and it was $36 bucks! Good luck!

They are pretty good cars to own, the Chrysler PTCruiser has above average reliability according to the Consumer Reporters, the Chrysler 300 has good reliability if you get the V6 models.

Which model are you looking at?? Sebring, Neon??

Chryslers have gotten better in the past few years, in terms of reliability.

BUT, they still are not up to par with build quality and reliabilty of Japanese cars.

You'd really be better off getting a late model used Japanese car like Honda, Toyota, or Nissan (avoid Mitsubishi, Suzuki, and ALL Korean cars like Daewoo, Kia, and Hyundai due to reliability issues).

Good luck with whatever you choose!

A 300c is real nice it is sometimes compared with infiniti g35, nissan altima, BMW 530i, Volvo S80, MB e350, and Caddy CTS.
It has some German technology in it and has an affordable price

Yes it's they make good cars. My mom has owned two and never had problems with them. She still has her 2002 PT Cruiser and Mercedes Benz owns it so if you think they make good cars well there ya go.
