Yes and No. I would not advocate the crime of stealing music. You must realize that this act is a crime punishable by law.
Nothing in life is free, if you want music for free then you have to deal with the threat of viruses. In the end you'll end up evening out because you'll pick up viruses that are so nasty they require professional help to get rid of. Then the $40 to $60 for the music you could have downloaded legally from itunes will seem cheap when the computer shop bills you 100 or so for repair.

Be fair, download the music legally.

As far as viruses go it doesn't matter, Kazaa, Limewire, Bearshare - what they do is connect you to other computers. The files are not coming from Bearshare or Limewire - they are coming from millions of computer users. It one of those users puts a virus in their shared folder and you download it you can get a virus.

It is like the phone company provides the phone connection but they have no control over what is said over the phone line.

Well, there is http://www.bittorrent.com/
Legally or Illegally?
You can just go over to other people houses with an Ipod or a huge portable hard disk and copy music over. But that would be illegal.
Try http://www.radioblogclub.com/
It's free, but you can't download.
Limewire is only safe for a specific file format. I mean that for legal files such as p2p files. I forget it's exact name, but I remember it's perfectly legal.
Bearshare other places usually have HUGE virual problems. I suggest you get a antivirus program and scan the file. But I am only suggesting you do this with legal music files. Otherwise, just get an iTunes card.
Illegal activity is not permitted, so I'm guessing your question isn't to provoke authorities. XD

What part of file sharing dont you understand? You use ANY of them, you are downloading from another users PC! These files dont come from a site! Would you let a total stranger walk in your front door and start loading files on your PC? Thats exactly what you are doing when you use these sites except you arent opening your front door! Get a clue!

Well, the link below is the best website ever for anime and video game music. And it's all free.

The thing is, it's illegal to put it up on the internet, but there's nothing that says if some people are dumb enough to do it, that you can't take it.

there are two.
the bests are: Ares and iMesh.
I've been using Ares for years and its never given me problems like limewire has. limewire crashed my computer but now i am able to get anything i want from Ares. Sometimes i use iMesh because sometimes they have it where you could download whole cd's and whole movies. They're great. try em!
