no, it's not a liberal/conservative thing. it's an educated/ignorant thing. there are those on both side the aisle that realise now all the fox news pundits are wrong. this isnt a win-lose war for us. it's become a test for the iraqis to see if they can hold a fragile thing like young democracy together on thier own. there are still those ignorant fools that think (in redneck voice) "we need to go over there and kill dem towel heads" it's not that kinda war anymore. it hasn't been for several years. no matter how long we stay and how many we kill or how many of our boys are killed it's not "our war" any more. we are only there in support of another nation. so we cant really apply won-lost terms to the current situation, this is why the generals have such a hard time when asked "are we winning".
i also find it funny how all things are cyclical. 10 years ago the republicans were being called "whiny" and how they didnt care about the country. they just wanted to see the pres fail. nowdays of course the tables are turned and and the dems are said to hold those beliefs. maybe it's just that partisian politics are bad for the nation the way george washington said they were when he ended his presidency. dont worry, i'm not an independant. just an educated republican.

I can't speak for others, but I am a liberal and I don't want to "win" the war. I'm not even sure that "winning" this war means? Can someone help me out? What I want is for the US military to leave Iraq, the US government to work with the United Nations and other middle eastern countries to rebuild Iraq's infrastructure and to encourage the creation of one or more stable states where people's human rights are respected. I want the Iraqi's to win, and the US to deal with our own problems.

ABSOLUTLTY NOT. or at least not unless Thye are in the presidency. The libs cant stand to see anything positive happen when the repulicans (especially the conservatives) are in power. you look at all the whinning and crying and boo-booing over EVERY little thing bush does. in the picture the libs paint this country is going to hell in a hand cart. then look at the reality. the economy has NEver (not once) been stronger, opportunity is flourishing, and yet all you hear about from the libs is doom and gloom all over the place.
do they want to win the war.... not unless they are calling the shots. kinda weenie and low bred if you ask me.

I know that repuglicans do not want to hear this, but define winning the war, question whether the goal of making Iraq peaceful after we have destroy it is even possible. Will the Iraqi people accept or reject any government set up by us? What is the bottom line cost of the war vs. the positive outcome? Is all of this even attainable? I think many repuglicans should ask themselves these questions before they condemn the Democrats for trying to end a war that was started based on George Bush and his administrations lies.

Nope, they want to turn the us into the cowards that france is.We will be so politically correct and never have the spine to fight a war and win and other countries are seeing this and laughing at us now.Wasnt there a Russian official that said we dont need to attack america, they will lose the battle amongst themselves?Guess he was right. Thanks libs for turning america into a panty waisted country.

It doesn't look like it to me. According to what they have been saying about it, and about President Bush, their favorite mind-set is CUT, and RUN! They scare me, because they're not out to protect America. Because of them, our honor, love of country, and our good reputation, are being mocked by other countries. They are trying to make the war in Iraq like Vietnam, when they screwed up and for the first time, caused the world to laugh at us. They SHAME America, and our forefather's with their hatred and stupidity! I am very angry at them for failing US again! I cry when I think about all the pain they cause, especially to our beloved soldier's, who risk their lives, and have DIED, for the liberals' right to dishonor themselves, and America. I just weep!

This war effects ALL of us, quit trying to make the Liberals the boogeymen for all that's wrong in your world. It's time to quit blaming each other and do something constructive.

I am starting to become more and more confident that many not all but many would rather see Bush fail, then do whats right for the country. That is as far as "Liberals" are concerned.
