They don't care about troops in Iraq, it got them elected. they just want to use it again in 08!

Well everyone wants the Iraqi's to take over and that is just exactly what they are planning to start doing!

The question is not what they write in a letter, the question is what do they vote. I think at this point it is not necessary for the democrats to be confrontational because Bush has not yet unveiled his new plan for Iraq. However, I would hope that if Bush does come out next week and say that he wants to send more troops to Iraq, and does not include a firm and immediate time-line for withdrawal that the democrats will have the strength to not simply send a letter disagreeing, but to take hard steps such as refusing to fund the increased troops, and working with republicans who are against the increase to demonstrate the serious political consequences that such an increase would have.

I know many people don't like to hear that, but it's true. We have now in Iraq over 140.000 soldiers and increasing the soldiers numbers it's make any sense. I thought we want to bring them home soon, now Bush want sent more troops.
They need to make some plan and find out, what they want to do in Iraq in the future? That's the point.. not sending more troops, the problem is not solved with that.

The overwhelming majority of the country is against Bush's increase in troops. Only 12 of the 49 Republican Senators are for his increase.

He really needs to heed their advise, but he won't, look for the lame duck president to block any legislation that the democrats come up with to make America better, that is not nor ever will be George Bush's objective.

It's time someone stood up to Bush, should've been done years ago. This is supposed to be a democracy not a dictatorship.

Knowing Bush's past responses to outside advice, it is not going to matter in the slightest.

It's a shame, I cannot believe they actually had the temerity to send bush a letter, knowing he can't read.

The audacity of anyone not wanting to see more kids give their life for an unjustified war... what's your point?
