As an American living in England,I can say I've seen both sides, and guess what?? Everybody is pretty much the same! So,no-I don't stereotype-then again,I never did. The people who do tend to stereotype tend to be of limited intellect who have probably never travelled outside their neighbourhood.

All nationalities have their stereotype. Its a cognitive process that enables you to make judgement of people (friend or foe) very quickly based on generalisation. It serves to help us make quick decisions that at times can save us from harm.

In the UK most of our perception of the average US citizen is formed by your media, which I'm sorry to say, usually highlights the weird, the wacky, the fat and the dumb (e.g Mr Bush).

i'm undecided of the origins of that stereotype yet human beings fail to realize that many white human beings (particularly Southern white human beings) grew up on a weight loss plan of fried rooster, macaroni and cheese, collard vegetables, and cornbread. it is greater southern delicacies- and conventional barbeque/cookout food. it incredibly is American in lifestyle (not basically black American) Edit- Jane Lane is nice. there have been stereotypical caricatures and minstrel shows depicted of exaggerations of what black human beings look as though ingesting watermelon.

I don't stereotype any nation personally. The US is a nation of individuals, good and bad, rich and poor, fat and thin.

I do find that the British are stereotyped wrongly in a lot of US TV shows though. We're not all posh, Oxford educated royalists y'now!

certainly not there is 300 million "Americans".

ps presumably by America you mean "The United States of America"...? Because America is actually a continent. Canada for instance, is in America.

You say you are American but you could be from Colombia or Ecuador so please can you be more specific in future.

you give us no choice. Just how we the english did at the height of our world superiority and ours was much more than yours Everyone thinks we drink tea with our pinky sticking out say stuff like pip pip ol' chap and tally ho, where as everyone thinks americans stuff there faces with Maccy Ds and splurts stuff out like Oi we won the war and we are the best nation on earthamongs other ridiculas statements.

The world judges everyone though - Arabs just blow them selves up, Jews are bitter and angry, the french are cowards the germans are a war like people and the japanese go kung fu fighting.

Not my opinions just examples
