To Heather above me...I never went to prom, but I know enough to say that a prom dress is whatever you want it to be.

If you know how to sew, make one yourself, or if you know someone that can sew. It doesn't have to be all fancy with boning and several layers like the typical prom dress. Go to Joanns. They have a large selection of fabrics and patterns. http://joanns.com/catalog.jhtml;$sessionid$5CHV0AQAAAM0AP4SY5LRHOR50LD3UEPO?CATID=101944&PRODID=104525&source=search They have this and then they have a camo fleec material, but that wouldn't be right for a dress. This one is cotton and I bet you could make one hell of a dress out of this. You can complete the look and make it a little more dressy by adding some black lace to it, either on the bottom hem, across the top of the bust or as a detailing if the pattern is an empire waist dress. If you do want some bit of a lining you can get some black tulle, gather this at the waist on the inside, this will also give your dress a slight poof, not like a Cinderella poof, but just enough. And have the tulle extend out past the bottom hem so you can see some of it. I've seen this before in dresses sold at DEB or another similar store.

I can not tell you where to find a camo prom dress, but I can maybe get you started in the right direction. Here is an article from a newspaper. There is also a picture of the girl in her dress. Link is below:

BUSSEY - Her prom dress could have been red, white or blue. But that would have been too easy."I don't try to be like everyone else," said Brandy Bonnett, 18, of Bussey. A senior at Twin Cedars High School, Bonnett wanted to honor her fiancé who is currently serving in the military in Iraq. She eventually settled on the idea of a camouflage prom dress. Her future husband, Bryan Elder of Oskaloosa, is a member of the Iowa National Guard's 224th Engineering Battalion, Bravo Company out of Ottumwa. The unit left Ottumwa for Fort Sill, Okla., in October before shipping off to the Middle East. "We thought he might get two weeks off around prom time," she said at her home Wednesday. "He was going to wear to wear his BDUs (Battle Dress Uniform) and me and my friends were just talking ..."
That's when the idea was born. She would match her soldier prom-date by wearing a camouflage gown. Even when she found out Elder would not be home for prom, she wanted to go through with honoring her fiancé's service to his country.
"I was hysterical the day they left," she recalled. The couple has been engaged about six months. Brandy's mother, Grace Bonnett, believes the senior is mature enough to get engaged - especially since she'll be 20 by the time Elder returns.
And, Grace Bonnett added, she liked the idea of the prom dress right away. But following through turned out to be a bit of a project. "We went to five different stores for the pattern, and tried 20 different places for the material," her mother said.
To have the dress done right, they took it to a seamstress who got it back to them after about a week and a half. Bonnett and her mother are trying to find a few accessories to go with the gown. They even tried to find a Hummer limousine in time for this Saturday's prom. Bonnett admitted she's a little scared about wearing such a unique dress to prom. "All the girls' dresses are shiny, or plain [but] glittery. I just wish everybody who was watching us knew the story, that it's to support my fiancé in Iraq who can't be here."

Do a search online. You will find several websites. But you will have to order early as it takes time for shipping.
