write your lyrics.
then sing while recording it with a microphone connected to your computer.
save the file (wav).
you may go compress or encode it (use Windows Movie Maker or any other user friendly application such as win avi). Or you may leave it as it is.

Go to www.sendspace.com

Choose upload

Choose your file

Wait till the upload is finished.

You'll be given a link

Give/Post that link for the world to download the song

(Of course, you may upload to music sites but most people prefer to download songs rather than to boringly strip the source of webpages to extract songs)

Hope to hear some of your songs soon. Email me some, I'd love to hear them.

It certainly is a tough industry to break into.

I have been writing songs for 15 years now and have been fortunate enough to had a few commercially recorded.

I found that the best way to get my songs out there was to find a local songwriters open mic night or similar. If you can't sing yourself get someone else to get up there and sing for you. Publishers often go to nights like these to check out new talent etc. It's all about exposure.

There are also some great songwriting sites on the net where you can get your songs reveiwed by other songwriters to give you an idea of what they are like.

Here's a couple of websites that might help you.

Good luck with everything.
