In the case of politicians telling the real truth :
To be honest : everyone seems to be making huge promises to make this world a better place in the future.....so far a lot of those promises didn't come true.
So I think I can recognise promises made just for election-purposes, and I will only be able to recognise the truth in them after they actually have come true.
If one of my close friends, or my family promisses me something for the future, I think I'm pretty good at figuring out if they're sincere about it, or just trying to make me happy with a dead fish.
