"insufficient cpu speed", is just about ridiculous with a centrino duo

The CPU is the Central Processing Unit. Think of it as the heart of your PC. It performs most of the calculations that have to be done, and without it your PC cannot function at all. The faster the CPU is, the faster your PC will be. The CPU is a chip inside your computer. Unfortunately, the only way to safely improve the speed of the CPU is to buy a better one. You can do something called overclocking, which improves the speed of your CPU beyond it's normal specifications, but then you run the risk of overheating the chip and ruining it.
To find out what CPU you need, I'd call in the help of a friend who's knowledgable about computers. Replacing the CPU can be tricky business, and you have to know which CPU's are compatible with your motherboard. It's best if you have a knowledgeable person to do this, to ensure nothing goes wrong.

Edit: It indeed seems unlikely that your laptop is out of date already. Most laptops offer options to save power. One of the ways they save power is simply by lowering the speed of the CPU. Make sure you have all powersaving features disabled to get the maximum speed out of your laptop.

This is the basic min you need to play.

Minimum System Requirements

Windows® System 2000/XP OS:

* Intel Pentium® III 800 MHz or AMD Athlon 800 MHz
* 512 MB or more of RAM
* 32 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA® GeForce™ 2 class card or above
* DirectX® 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers
* 6.0 GB available HD space
* 4x CD-ROM drive
* A 56k or better Internet connection

If you do not have at least a 800Mhz processor, I am sorry to say you will not be able to play game.

How to tell what processor you have.

Click Start>Run, type in run box dxdiag and hit enter.

If asked to check for WHQL certs, click no.

On opening page this will list your processor, make sure it is at least 800Mhz.

May be world of warcraft doesn't pick up your CPU properly. I have had things tell me my AMD 64 X2 dual core processor is too slow and showing it as <800MHz which is obviously wrong. I assume it doesn't recognise it because it is a newer processor

Do you know what processor you have?

lol why do so many people keep having this problem?does anybody know how to read the box?or search for the requirements?if you don't have double the minimum requirements which is the recommended settings,or better don't bother.

over clocking your hardware,isn't such a sweet thing either,so i don't recommend you listening to people who just state..over clock your parts,cause for one it's not as easy as it sounds,and two you need to know what you are doing,you can't just expect a massive tweek towards the parts,it takes a lot of testing,and has to be done in increments to make sure its safe.
