Not a bad idea. The main platform issue could be the institution of the FairTax, H.R. 25, proposed by Congressman Linder.

The FairTax Plan is a nonpartisan national grassroots campaign to replace the federal income tax system with a progressive national retail sales tax. It provides a "prebate" to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar federal revenue replacement and, through companion legislation, repeal of the 16th Amendment.

These members have co-sponsored H.R. 25 (The FairTax Act of 2005)

There was a U.S. Taxpayers' Party a few years back. Trouble is that third parties have a rough time with our system. Might be easier to develop a caucus within one of the major parties...or both of them.
