You'll have to define your question better to get a clear answer.

One of the first accounts of written history is by Herodotus...

Some say civilization began in the region of the Middle East referred to as "The Fertile Crescent" but recent excavations (in the last ten years) are starting to give us several other options to look at in Northern Africa, parts of Asia and even the Steppes of Russia...

As far as life on Earth itself...well, scientists are constantly reaching farther back and finding things older than previously known...so the answer to that one is still pretty much up in the air.

If you're talking about the universe...well...I don't think anyone is entirely sure about that either. With the new theory of expand and contract, the universe has always been there in infinity. No beginning, no end, just change.

I don't know, but I think it started long before God. The bible says God created man because He was lonely. How long was He lonely before that? So things must have started before that. If you think the world started when God created man, I guess you'd have to figure out where was the Garden of Eden. Surely, Darwin has a philosophy on this.

anyhow, don't you know that all things started at the beginning of time. And as thing started to happen they started to take up space because they started to matter. Everything has followed this process. Check it out! ;)

History began a long way before the world even started. History isn't just about Hitler, Mussolini and Malcolm X...it's so much more than that. And it goes back a long long way...
