For such a small country with a likewise population - why are the Dutch so good at a seemingly pub orientated sport such as Darts ... Barney is a world champion along with other players in the various governing bodies of the sport.

They are so good at Darts as they have government backing with money & they also travel the world playing in tournaments and so forth.

The youth system out there is second to none also with darts being practised in schools as well as after schools darts clubs and they also travel around the circuit playing in tournaments.

I know of a Dutch youth player (Pascal Van Mourick) has won the Welsh Youth Open for the pastTwo years & has not had a look in to represent their country in the Europe & World youth cups. I think last year he was ranked 14 in the Dutch Youth set up, with the top ten going into an academy to help them.
