I think that they can be two equally blinded pridefull bastards. They can be so caught up in the crowning of their own thoughts, that the truth often becomes the victum.

You are right. Neither side will listen to the other.

Don't fret though -- most of us walk a line somewhere in between. I am anti-war but I'm not terribly fond of the "hippi" lifestyle either. They are idealistic and tend to fight every bit as much as the actual soldiers and governments.

Both sides are pathetic and leave the rest of us to pick up the pieces.

Life is messy.

Isn't it true, though, that it is nearly impossible to assess who the extremists are when one doesn't have the truth, and thus, understand what the middle from which both sides are so far?

You are correct on some level, however, hippies tend not to wish death on others...warmongers do.
