Johnson made all of the all accomplishments with little glory, JFK's greatest accomplishment seemed to be getting shot with a lot of false glory. So is JFK our most overrated President.

And the most protected, at least in modern age.

He made Clinton look like a choir boy, as his choice of girlfriends was far more dangerous to the country than Monica and his own famiy's history far more repugnant. The press instead created the Camelot myth for JFK. They then savaged LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Reagan and even Clinton. Carter and Bush I were nondescript.

Yes he is a very overrated President. You did however forget one thing that he did accomplish. Remember the Cuban Missile Crisis? Fine he blockaded an Island and averted a major conflict by doing so. But I feel that anyone in office would have done the same thing. And it's an Island. It's not that hard to stop something from being put onto an Island when you get good intelligence that, that's about to happen.

Check out the administration of Ulysses S. Grant if you want to see how misguided American voters can be. The guy was absolutely the worst. Corruption of the highest sort and total ineptitude in office were the norm for good ol 'Useless S. Graft' as my history professor referred to him. I couldn't find one thing he did right while he was president.

I think so, it seemed to me that all that JFK had going for him was that he was young and had a pretty wife. People tend to forget that our involvement in Vietnam was set into high gear during JFK's run. Also don't forget, the bay of pigs, the missile crisis, etc. He spoke well, though.

I would say JFK, FDR and Teddy Roosevelt were overrated.

FDR did what any other president would have done during a wartime situation. Except, FDR introduced a bunch of beauracratic red-tape programs to our society.

Teddy Roosevelt globalized our nation and got involved in the affairs of other countries to much. I mean, making war with Panama just so we can build a canal. How corrupt can you get?

JFK did nothing but get shot and MAYBE averted a nuclear war with Cuba. But, many will also claim that his cabinet members did that.

By the way, I think Lee Harvey Oswald was a patsy and that LBJ was the one who had conspired to have Kennedy assasinated.

The best presidents ever: Washington, Lincoln and Reagan.

He wasn't in office long enough to accomplish much. He did start the Peace Corps and stood down the USSR over Cuba. And had he not been killed, we never would have gotten so involved in Vietnam. Kennedy had planned to withdraw all the military advisers that Eisenhower had sent to Vietnam. Johnson, of course, had other plans.

Not anymore. Once maybe.

Currently, it'd be Reagan. People forget the way the American Middle Class died during the 80s -- just ceased to exist, along with quality union factory jobs. People forget the explosion in homelessness during the 80s, which Meese and Reagan dismissed as "people who don't want to work". People forget the cutting of the social safety net for society's marginals, at a time when the wealthy got gift-from-God caliber tax breaks. It isn't coincidence that these things occurred concurrently with Reagan's terms. Trickle down and supply side economics heaps riches on the rich and strips the poor to subsistence living. The Middle Class hovers uneasily in between, but ever closer to the bottom fringe.

This doesn't even mention the treason that brought old sack-face to office: The October surprise, in 1980, that saw Bush Sr and Reagan hand off money and favors to the Iranians in return for them holding the hostages until after the election. Key in "October Surprise" in your favorite search engine, and learn something you never knew that may alter the appearance of this "great American" for you for all time. He really F'd up America.

you have a point. Johnson had a lot to do with the advancement of the civil rights era. However, Kennedy (along with Bobby) set the scene.
