Kinda. William himself actually asked his daddy if Kate could have some protection from the media. Since they aren't engaged yet, the royal guards don't apply to her immediately, but Charles did send some for her protection. William also brings Kate to all these places and hotels. Gotta say,William's girl is definetely living the rich life now that they are dating...

She's a commoner. They are just dating and it's the press who claim they will marry. The future King will have to marry in to the correct family as he's the last hope of saving the royals. He's only young and has plenty of European princesses eyeing him up who will come with their own money.
