I understand how you feel . For me the smear is not a problem the problem for me is having my legs spread wide showing my private parts off to a virtual stranger even tho they are medically trained. Also i always seem to be asked "would you mind a student sitting in to observe". ummm great i am thinking!!
Most women i speak to say the same the smear is fine just the exposure of our private bits.

I feel exactly the same - I ignored the letters for years on pretence that I was too busy, not well etc etc. One day I felt really really ill and thought I was having a prolapse - turns out I had cervical cancer. I was very lucky and am now in remission (without having a hysterectomy). Now I have to have annual smear tests so its worse now xxxxxxxxxxx

you have a appropriate to not be mocked like that with the aid of the surgeon or nurse. i might ask your GP if it would be very nicely to fulfill the nurse who will do your smear in strengthen (you may make an appointment) to debate your fears. all the nurses i've got had doing my smears have long previous to super lengths to place me at my ease and been stunning to me - that's what you have a appropriate to assume. i comprehend it incredibly is a sprint frightening to evaluate, yet once you probably did get cervical maximum cancers it would be so lots greater invasive, and of direction, you will possibly be able to desire to die. So those exams are substantial - and basically happen each 3-5 years, so it is not so undesirable. i'm undecided the place approximately you're - in my area of the country they are basically given after the age of 25, so which you in all probability do have some years to get used to the assumption until now it incredibly turns into pressing. i discover them incredibly trouble-free - because of the fact i'm used to wanting to loosen up, because of the fact they are delicate with me and don't mock me, fairly they communicate over with me to maintain me calm and it is over very immediately without soreness. So it is carried out! you will possibly be able to even experience greater beneficial for having conquered your worry, that's comprehensible after considered one of those nasty experience beforehand - it is going to not be like that and additionally you have a appropriate to ***** while you're dealt with in that way. good success and that i'm hoping you experience waiting to take the try at some point. it is an automatic equipment - so which you will in all probability nevertheless get letters, yet you will possibly be able to desire to ask your GP approximately it and that they might comprehend what to do.
