It is utterly vacuous.
"I love it when you call, but you never call at all"
So how the fack does he know he loves it when you call if you never call at all? It might be like fingernails down a blackboard for all he knows, interestingly enough that's similar to how this song sounds to me. Cruel and unusual treatment for it to be on the radio so much. Aaaaagh my brain is imploding!!
