IF the Republicans knew that it is perfectly normal for Congress to shift to the opposite party, why didnt they ask to save time and money and simply step down from the House and Senate so that the other side could gain control. They are supposed to anyway, according to Rush Limbo, right???

elRUSHBO has become a spin doctor. He is the guy that has to come up with a phoney reason to allow the mindless followers to have a excuse ready so that they can sleep at night.

Thats not how power works...nobody (no party in control of the govt) just hands it over and says "okay, now its your turn.." I think sometimes pundits can read the writing on the wall and predict a bloodbath for one party or another (BTW thank god for November 2006)...And they might adjust their strategy slightly by putting up a soft candidate like Bob Dole, or lets say Ted Kennedy..somebody who wants to run and has paid his dues but probably has little chance of winning...

But in the legislature they are trying to hold on forever and to resist the historical trends. Karl Rove, the genius ignored this conventional poltical science wisdom and thought he could build a permanent Republican majority but they pushed too far and tried to build that base too far to the right I think, and in the last election even the evangelicals deserted them..

Because politicians never admit defeat.Remember Dukakis everyone knew he couldn't win. That didn't stop him from running.Rush takes his own side, that's a surprise? At least he's consistent.
