Yes you can, I can't see that it would hurt any different, but there are more risks involved to giving birth vaginally with a breech baby. That is why many doctors advise C-section.

They don't allow a women to give birth to a baby that is breech. My first child was breech and since i was young they didn't want to do a c-section on me unless they HAD to. SO they actually turned the baby with their hands. What they do is place their hands on top of your belly, push in as much as they can and actually turn the baby head down. Yes it's very uncomfortable with lots of pressure and my stomach was sore for a little while afterward but it was totally worth it. I'm not sure if all doctors try this but mine did (a specialist at the hospital). If not then they do a c-section.

If the child is coming out backwards.. yes and it will hurt more because it will be a very difficult delivery pushing the baby out, when the head comes out first everything follows quickly. With a breech the cervix can even close shut on the neck and suffocate (and I hate to say this but at times decapitate) the baby.

If the baby is presenting on it's side- it is just not possible. The baby has to be moved (which is quite painful, dangerous and often not successful), it usually has to be a c-section.

Yes you can push a breech baby out of you, and yes it would hurt a lot more than the head first position because the baby's body is doubled over with their bottom coming out first and then their doubled over body (think feet in his/her face) last. This is extremely dangerous and most doctors will do a c-section. The danger lies in that the umbilical cord can become wrapped around the baby's neck and head and choke/smother him/her.

IF you are in the US, doctors will not let you vaginally deliver a breech baby. You will be having a C-section, unless they can turn the baby. There is too much risk of something bad happening to the baby who is in a breech position.

One of my babies was born breech (and the usual way rather than C-section). It was fine (or as fine as any delivering is ever going to feel).

I have since read that premature babies who are breech should not be allowed to deliver the usual route; but nobody knew my baby was breech, and he was speedy-deliverer so it just happened.

When doctors know ahead of time that babies are breech they often try to turn them before delivery.

Breech birth is dangerous and more painful than a head first birth. People succeed in breech birth; while others have difficulties.

If it is your first pregnancy, they will try to turn the baby into position, but if this fails they will usually do a Cesarean. But if it is your second or third, they usually let you go normally. My Sister in Law's second child was breach, and she delivered him normally. In actual fact, her second child they knew was a boy before they even saw his feet. His feet were tucked up over his shoulders.

Yes you can have a breach baby. My niece was born breach. When they first come out, their legs are a little bent kinda upwards..but they eventually relax their muscles down. It hurts a little more. But you can always opt to have a c-section!
