Oi scottie boy just because footballers dive and fake injury during play doesnt make them actors. Maybe some american footballers should have a go at rugby and see how tough they look then.

That's cuz you're looking in the wrong place. We call it soccer, and it's just not an exciting enough sport for us to play on a big level. We have Major League Baseball (MLB), National Basketball Assoc. (NBA). , National Football League (NFL), and National Hockey League (NHL). Those are the 4 big pro sports leagues. I know that there is a soccer league, but I never even see it on tv.

American footballers are people like Peyton Manning, Ladanian Tomlinson, Rex Grossman... They don't play soccer.

If you're talking about "soccer" it's because nobody in America cares about the sport anymore. The professional leagues hardly generate any interest or revenue. We have sports like American Football and Baseball which are far superior to the boring sport of soccer. Even hockey, which is struggling but I still enjoy, is much more entertaining than soccer because they actually score goals! In 30 minutes less time as well. Soccer is just an outdated sport. Do not worry though, the NFL is expanding into Europe as you have seen and they are now hosting games there every season. Once more Europeans get accustomed to the sport and the league, they will drop soccer like the outdated, backward and boring sport that it is and only watch the NFL. It's only a matter of time. I believe the Saints and Chargers are playing there next season...maybe you can get tickets? Good luck!

Of course, we've heard of some of the famous soccer players. But if you have not heard of any American football players, then you just are not paying attention. They certainly receive enough publicity. I have seen American football coverage in international news broadcasts (e.g., BBC) and televised games overseas.

In fact, at this very moment, I'm watching the Colts-Chiefs game on a live broadcast in Taiwan -- featuring NFL stars Peyton Manning and Larry Johnson.

Football (soccer) is one of the least played sports in America. It would make sense that we would have the smallest pool of talent in the worldwide sport.
