Iran. Kim Jung Il, like the former Soviet Union, can be contained through a fear of mutually assured destruction. The Iranian government cannot. They believe they are called to destroy the infidels, and they truly believe this calling justifies them killing mass numbers of people - including their own - and then letting Allah sort the good from the bad later. Even if the Iranian government knew that they could kill only 3,000 of our people before we took out 3,000,000 of theirs... that's all good to them, because they got 3,000 infidels, and scored 3,000,000 martyrs to boot.

North Korea is far more capable, militarily, than Iran is. But in this scenario, it is not the militaries alone that we must fear. It is the ideologies. Kim Jung Il is a nut, yes. But he is still interested in self-preservation, etc. The President of Iran is not interested in self-preservation. He is only interested in pushing Isreal into the sea, and destroying America, the Great Satan.

I'll put my money on Iran for these reasons:
1) They have a lot less to lose from their neighboring countries if
they used nuclear weapons.
2) The United Nations seems to coddle Iran, for some reason.
3) China would open a humongous can of whoop *** on North
Korea if they used a Nuke.
4) Russia would not like N. Korea's use of Nukes. either.
5) Iranians are an Islamic state, which in recent years has
shown a propensity for chaotic thinking, senseless violence
against innocent peoples, and an uncaring attitude toward right
thinking agenda.

That is only my opinion, you understand.
Thank you for playing...you've been a wonderful audience. Johnny, tell them what they've won!
LOL!

That's a good question, and a hard one to answer with any confidence.

North Korea already has some nuclear capabilities and has attempted a nuclear test. (It is unclear to the intelligence community if it actually worked)

Both countries divert attention from their government problems by blaming them on the US, Israel, or other convenient scapegoat, thereby inciting hatred and support for war among their people.

Both countries have serious problems with poverty and have less to lose than those they are likely to attack, although North Korea is probably much worse off.

Iran makes threats against Israel gaining popular support among Islamic countries, but when North Korea makes threats, everyone condemns them, but wants to give them more aid bribing them to back off.

N.K.'s leader is a real squirrel and possibly nutty enough to do it, but that could be an act. Iran's leader things he is a holy element/aid who will bring the second coming of Islam. (That is a rhetorical statement because I forgot the actual term for what he believes)

I dunno... it could go either way, but I'm leaning toward Iran, mostly for the religious beliefs.

your choices are only n. korea or iran. too bad because i don't those are the "most likely" in the near future. first, i beleive bin laden's posse is most likely to use radio active materials to "poison the water hole" over here. next, i would guess pakistan because the current friendly regime is tittering on the razor's edge. the next regime could easily be radical muslim militants with a short fuse.

but between the two you offered, i would say iran will be the biggest threat in years to come. they are highly movitivated to return to there greatness when persian leaders like cyrus the great ruled. the have a glorious history. so do the italians etc. but iran wants to prove they still have "the right stuff." i have know many iranians who still proudly call themselves persians. they have all studied about when persia was great. the identify with that. the want the power to "be somebody." there is you motive and don't underestimate its attraction ot all "persians." the history and legends live on.

oil isn't enough. if it was all about oil, the wouldn't need top build a nucler reactor for future energy needs. not at this time. so what it is all really about is what our cia, nsa and the men in black all know. it is about building a nuclear arsenal. the israeli thing is a smoke screen. thast is at best a secondary issue to them. they want their leaders to stand up and get notice in the world. the want respect.

little bonk foo ying or whatever the little looney is called, well, he hasn't a clue. he will never have enough nuclear power to do more than draw down a typhoon of missles on his poor citizens if he snorts enough coke and boinks out one day and pushes his launch button. he will age and die long before they build up diddly s---. likely, the next one will change everything over there. scratch n. korea. well, thanks for listening, and that wraps up the news from lake wobegone.

Listen up... The only way any of those countries could use them is if we let them. The US wouldn't let them. Iran already tried to produce one years ago and guess what? Israel sent "one" plane. The whole factory got owned and the pilot survives to tell the tale.

And North Korea, same bullshit. Now "China", they already have them, and they Dictator hates America. The other countries are too small to be any threat.

Other then that, i must say that about 100 suitcases full of uranium (russian) dissapeared after the cold war. The thing you need to worry about isn't a bomb, it's more of radioactive uranium powder being thrown in Time Square.

More importantly, Iran will first because they already have the technology and N Korea is still testing. Both countries are very scary because the dictators are psychotic. Not a good combo with nukes at hand. It's not will they use them, it's when. They both have ambitions of being a great world power. Makes me long for the days of the Soviet threat. They were a world power with us. They didn't need to show their might.

Iran's leader is the scariest kook, although Kim runs a close second, but I have to go with Iran.
