Sounds like either a plugged up fuel filter or maybe the fuel pump is going out.

Try replacing the fuel filter first. if the problem persists have a shop do a fuel line pressure test to see if the pump is working correctly.

Your problem may be fuel related, but you may also want to check your timing. How many miles are on the engine? When was the last time it had a timing chain?

Also, be sure to check your cap, rotor, spark plug wires, and plugs. All of these can cause a stumble or bad skip.

it surely relies upon. A precise sized and tuned carburetor will provide almost the comparable horsepower on the comparable engine while positioned next to a similar gas injection device. countless the time the adaptation in hp numbers while in comparison with a gas injection device has to do with the intake (like on the TPI engines) or the type/length of the gas injection once you're watching a TBI unit - it is the reason countless adult men declare carbs are extra suitable. gas injection won't be all that complicated, exceptionally now with the creation of self-getting to grasp FI desktops like the fast unit. the massive worry of putting a later FI engine into an older nova could might desire to be with reconfiguring the gas tank to house the return lines and pump, changing the plumbing as mandatory to house the better gas tension, and adapting as mandatory the wiring, transmission (later LS type engines have diverse dimensions on the trans mount) and the indicators on your gauges. The later engines, even if, have a wealth of latest tech in them that makes them extra suitable in hp and reliability/driveability while positioned next to first gen engines. could or not that is nicely worth it? That relies upon on despite in case you could evaluate the fee tag in this kind of change as being nicely worth it! you will possibly desire to continuously overhaul your modern engine and positioned gas injection on it - the two by scrounging FI structures, or going with an o.e.m FI device like Holley sells. Then, you have the reliability/driveability, and you will up your horsepower numbers by watching aftermarket heads.
