I don't think one gender over the other is more supportive, it depends on the individual person. I have female aquaintances I can go to for honest support and not just general patronizing, and I have male aquaintances that offer me honest support.
It's not a matter of the gender, it's a matter of the person, and their relationship to the one needing support.

Women are natural "helpers." They like being needed, and will help people in order to feel that way. They do not always agree that men are wrong, just that sometimes men suck. But we suck too sometimes. Facts of life.

I have found in business that female bosses treat their male employees better (and Ive worked at a lot of companies). They seen to resent other women.

I don't think so, they just do it in different ways. Maybe some situations or subjects require either a male or a female support system.

sometimes maybe, but it always depends on the person. i've seen some really heartless women as well as heartless men.

I cannot speak for every woman but I don't get into the gender war concept.
