John Kerry is no War Hero.
He claimed to have three Purple Hearts, Silver Star and Bronze Star he received as a Navy officer. However, there is no evidence of Kerry every being injured during battle or ever missing a day of active duty. Kerry also refuses to release medical records that more thoroughly describe his “injuries,”. Paper cuts don’t count John.
Grant Hibbard, Kerry’s commanding officer at the time, said Kerry’s injuries were too minor to qualify for a Purple Heart.
Kerry was a national spokesman for the Vietnam Veterans Against the War.
John Kerry slandered America’s military
On the other hand, President Bush turned over all his records on serving in the Texas Air National Guard as a jet fighter pilot.
Yes, there is a huge “character” difference between George W. Bush and John F. Kerry.

Do a google search and read Medal of Honor citiations. Then, you will get a good idea of what a "military hero" actually is. When your leg is shot off, and your mere feet from an enemy machine gun, and you go back and forth tending to the wounded, without regard to your own life...that's an example of a military hero. John Kerry, while brave and honorable in his duty, is LIGHT YEARS from being able to even look at the jock of a REAL military hero.

Read Unfit for Command, which details how he applied for Purple Hearts on numerous occasions when his superiors refused to submit the claims because of the absurdities surrounding the incidents.
An even a better read is john kerry's own book The New Warriors, published in 1971 which reveals him to be the American bashing traitor that he was during the Vietnam conflict that he so desperately tried to suppress from the voting public pryor to his failed bid for the presidency.
kerry successfully blocked the reissuing of the his book but I was able to get a copy through my local library, although it took them weeks to get a copy from a state collage.
I have a way of seeing through shady characters, and I knew kerry was one of them, but based on the two books I have recommended he has proven to be the fake, phony and fraud that thankfully was defeated in the last election.

In my humble opinion - any one who faught in a war for the U S A is a hero. How can we say otherwise? The men and women who are in active service are not the problem - it is the leaders and politicians that create the environment for war. It appalls me to see any military drag through the mud. It feels like children taunting each other with thier accomplishments (mine's bigger then yours so to speak).
So, YES, I think John Kerry is a military hero and a hero of the human race to challange a war that had little redeeming values.

All I know for sure is that he actually served in our military with distinction. The military believed he did, and honored him as such. That's good enough for me.
Whether you agree wih his politics is immaterial.
Those of you who dispute his military record or call him a traitor, etc, must think the same of our soldiers serving in Iraq rigth now. I guess fro you even if the military judges someone as a hero by their own standards, you don't care. The service each man and woman in our military today is meaningless unless they subscribe to your brand of politics. Shame on you. There are poeple of all kinds in our military, and we could never accomplish what we have without ALL of them.
If you want to say he's an ineffective politician, that's your business, but saying something against his service cheapens that off all servicemen and women.

Kerry was and is a traitor. He met with the Vietnamese delegation in Paris (while in uniform) and denounced his own troops. He was not a hero then and never will be.

I think he was slammed during the election campaign as smear tactics by the Bush's campaign manager. Face it, he served, and his Honorable discharge speaks for itself. Even today soldiers return from the war with mixed feelings, if you think this is false, try waking up at night with a flash back and covered with sweat from head to toe. I agree sometimes Kerry is hard to follow, and a lot of people interpret his speeches in a negative way, but speeches are not easy to give on the fly. On the other hand, Bush makes no sense, and one has to piece together words to figure out what is said, My point is everyone has faults.
...................................................................................
If you want you can look back, during the campaign Bush also used smear tactics to Slam McCain's military service, and made the poor guy break down, and cry on the Larry King show.

You people who bash Kerry for a screwed up punch line are morons. Then again, that's not surprising. At least he went and served his country. I bet half of you never have.
