The way I understand it, the Producer throws money at it, and the Director organises the trivial stuff like bossing the actors around when filming and taking care of the cinematography. Stage Shows often have several different "producers" who aren't even involved in the show aside from putting money into it. Not sure whether it's the same in the movie industry.

yes very different. The producer is the man behind the money. He puts up the money for the film, so he is boss in reality. The director is the one who controls what goes on on set. He "directs", for lack of a better word, the actors and acting and what actually happens in the movie. But the producer is the reason it all happens. No money, no movie.

director is more hands on,arranging the actors and setting the scenes,the producer just organizes the whole thing from a business point of view.

aye they are....the director directs the actors etc in the filming of the movie. and the producer deals with the financial side of the movie.

yeah,a lot.the producer finances the movie,promotes it,etc(hes all about the money)and the director works with the actors, crew,most of the time chooses the cast and crew
