Is it fair comment to suggest that the majority of the inhabitants of a 'Superpower' country, keep the majority of its citizens as stupid as possible, so it can spread its power and control outwardly with more foundational stability?

Angry American Christian Fundamentalists need not reply.

Yes thank you Dem_Dogs.

I typed the question incorrectly and everyone else had the brain power and lack of EGO to see past that apart from you.

Capitalist country where more than %70 of the population is white, Christian (in some form, preferrably Protestant), where less than 1% of the total population control more than a third of the total wealth and resources, an education system that has perpetuated sexual stereotypes (males tend to be casted into sports and physical activities rather than academics, women either into academics or domestic duties) to create a predictable population...Yeah, there is a form of mass control going on there. Even the perpetuated ideals of "free speech" and democracy are used as methods of control in the US. You're allowed to speak and essentially do as you act, but big business is allowed to do the same. They're allowed to influence the population and mold them in zombies - also known as consumers. With that kind of system in place, the government is relieved of a big portion of that responsbility themselves.

In my opinion its not only the inhabitants of a superpower country, sadly its a world situation. In the world and era of information, the best and worst weapon its precisly how to use it. It could be, like Michael Moore says, to create terror and therefore control the mass for the benefit of a few.

Can we really believe to be the truth what we see or read in the news (tv, radio, internet..)??? or can we start to think that its all a conspiracy against human kind??? maybe the same thoughts of making a difference its already a control thought by the goverment empire. Education and its contents, the system itself its already "infected" by it.

Its very known at least in my country (Mexico) that having a degree, no matter what university its from, doesnt really mean anything; more and more people has the opportunity to study, but thats not what it is important, are we really learning to think?, are we really learning to creat a mind of our own? or we just following the sistem..?.

Personally Ive seen it all, our educational sistem its not helping to create critical persons, they follow the world, even if they knew something is wrong and they are acting stupid, they know at the same time that theres nothing much they can do against the control or the "matrix".

Depends on what you mean by stupid. The percentage of Americans with high school and college degrees has steadily increased over the years. Could the American government mislead its people to support a spread of its power? It could try. But look how that failed with the war in Iraq. The free flow of information and the ability of the other political side to call BS when they see it means that any grand conspiricy is unlikely to occur.

The left and the right want two different things when it comes to the shape and future of America and it is unlikely they will ever find a real middle ground to enable them to concentrate on taking over the world. Most likely the best you could see would be the political parties of America keeping the populace ignorant through misleading campaigns and mud slinging.

It isn't stupidity of the citizens that gives this government it's ability to go beyond it's authority; it's their apathy and failure to take action to rein it in and maintain control of it. Where other countries leaders use fear and intimidation to control it's populace, "civilized" countries count on the populace to be more concerned with their own personal agendas than being willing to unite enough to force the government to make changes in policy. Instilling a feeling of "there's nothing I can do" and creating internal conflict between segments of the population aids in keeping the government in control.

Absolutely. Having a functionally illiterate president ensures that stupidity has no stigma attached to it in the US.

A majority keep the majority stupid? You are definitely part of the majority. I must be part of the minority since I am smart.

Also you can't make people stupid, only uneducated by indoctrinating them by the liberal garbage spewed out in our liberal public school system.

BTW, I am not angry, just home schooled.
