the lg is a reasonable drive, you should just be able to replace your existing cd rw, as a dvd burner will be able to burn cds as well as dvds.

you can put them both in and copy one to another, but i you have to remember to set one up as a slave, on the back of the drive you will have a group of 6 or 8 pins, with a plastic clip covering two pins, if you look on the back of the drive there will be a guid saying what two pins to cover in order to make it a slave drive. i would make your cd rw drive a slave if you choose to do this.

allthough u need to be careful on this option as if your not to carefull the 1st drive wont be able to send the data to the dvd writer quick enough

£19 can't be wrong. Give it a try, buy one and see if you like it. You don't need to have two to copy one to another. All you need is enough hard drive space to hold a disc image.
If it doesn't come with software you'd have to find some freeware burning software on the net as paying for it separate is expensive.
I have an LG and it's fine.

hi! perhaps you probably did all of it incorrect. close down. get rid of CD-RW unit. instead of it, set up the DVD unit! Now, enter BIOS (Setup), likely by urgent Del. enter the common Settings (left panel, first menu merchandise). Now, verify to ascertain in the journey that your DVD-RW shows up properly. if so, ok. Now, press Esc to go back to significant menu. And keep BIOS settings. I presume that you're utilizing accepted IDE/EIDE ATA UDMA drives. if you're utilizing different drives please search for suggestion from with the producer for training. Win might want to be sluggish, it truly is why you should judge reinstalling it. also, some drivers might want to be required. WinASPI is an significant challenge to consider even as issues get up with ASPI compliant contraptions, alongside with DVD and CD drives. strong success!

You will find it east to install just like i did and this has been said before just by one and copy the DVD onto your hard drive then copy that image onto a DVD. You will get a much better copy that way, coping from drive to drive is prone to errors.
