I want to be funnier in general. Not that I'm not funny now, but I'd like to work on my abilities. What can I do to make myself an all around funnier person?

people are always remarking about how "nuts and funny" i am the trick is to be spontanious, absorb everything around you and find something funny in it - even if it is cheesy or a rubbish joke - the fact that you were sad enough to tell it will never cease to make people laugh!
drop any inhabitions you have be random and stupid - age shouldnt mean turn into a miserable sod! let it all go and do whatever you think is funny to you - someone is bound to laugh somewhere!!!!!! thats whats got me through matey!

I don't know how you can be funnier but just be yourself. If you're a happy person, have a good personality, make people laugh, quick and witty, people will want to be around you. Always having a good joke to tell is another thing, just don't tell the same one over and over. The getting funnier part will come naturally.

Watch Russell peters.
Stay away from cliqued jokes.
Try to be original.
Always crack ppl up, when they least expect it, that way they will laugh even if ur joke is cheesy.
Don't overdo it, be natural.
And remember not everyone has a good sense of humor, so many ppl might not even fathom ur jokes or even if they do they night just not laugh at u. Don't let this discourage you.

That's a tough one. Being funny is usually one of those inherent things; you've either got it, or you haven't. I would suggest studying lots and lots of comedians, the history of comedy, and maybe taking an acting class or two. Timing is the most essential element to comedy.

No, just have confidence, if you have it, you have it.
It's something people are gifted with. And many know what's funny and what's not before they say it.
