and cable to mouse/pc Were ok ! if just a little untidy sometimes.My Q is: was there ever a mouse that plugged into the keyboard and then the k.board PLugged to pc?

Yes. On certain IBM models the mouse plugged into the keyboard. Then the cable from keyboard plugged into the pc.

Also, this was a common setup for Apple's and MAC's.

Yes, many do nowadays. The mouse plugs into a USB port on the keyboard, and the keyboard plugs into a USB port on the computer. Dell ships them with some of its computers.

The only such products I know of are keyboards with an integrated mouse. These, however, usually connect either to both keyboard and mouse (PS/2) inputs at the back of the pc, or connect to a USB slot.

I haven't heard of a mouse connecting directly into a keyboard and then into the PC.

AFAIK, there was none. Most kebd/mose sets that came as a package had two seperate cables for he two devices.

why not opt for a cordless set-up, much neater and not at all expensive these days
