For years my cycle was exactly 28 days. I could tell you exactly what day and the hour that it would start each month. In 2004 I had an ectopic pregnancy. They caught mine late and had to remove the tube due to the damage. After I healed I started charting. My cycle was all over the place. Now it ranged between 30-35 days each month. It never went back to the 28 days clockwork. I don't know if it is attributed to the ectopic of not, but that was the only thing that had happened to me.

You should still ovulate normally, although it may be at a different time that it used to be. I started ovulating late in my cycle. And even though you have had an ectopic you should have no problem carrying and having a baby. Especially since they saved your tube. You will have even better odds of getting pregnant.

Although I want to tell you. I charted for almost a year. We had the timing down great every month and we never got pregnant. We were getting frustrated because my period would show up every month so I decided to stop charting and work on getting into better shape. Just a few months later we were pregnant. lol

Good luck! I hope you have a happy healthy pregnancy soon!

I know a couple of people who had ectopic pregnancies and went on to have a couple of babies after.

If you got off the pill a year ago, then got pregnant, then had it removed, etc. etc (and you have obviously added another year to your age, which can mean periods change) your system is probably just now trying to get itself into the latest routine.

To the best of my knowledge, a 33-day cycle in a normal cycle, even if it is a long cycle.

Your doctor must have told you what you could expect as far as future pregnancy goes. If he/she didn't then he/she should.

People go on to have normal babies after ectopic pregnancies. When it comes down to it, there was probably nothing wrong with the embryo/fetus (however long you had it). There was something wrong with where it "set up shop".

I had a short time when the doctor believed I could have an ectopic pregnancy, and I know how "creepy" the idea of that can feel. I think right now you're anxious because of what you've gone through.

Wouldn't you think, though, if the doctor didn't think you could get another pregnancy started successfully that he/she would suggest harvesting your eggs and fertilizijng them outside?

Stress and anxiety can affect your cycle, so you have to factor that in.

I'm not able to guess about whether your next pregnancy will be normal (or whether there will be one at all), but I tend to think you got a kick in the head when that ectopic pregnancy and that is associated with it occurred, and I think you're experiencing a lack of confidence in your ability to have a normal pregnancy; and while that blow to confidence is understandable and normal after a loss of a pregnancy, I think your lack of confidence could be a little more extreme than it really needs to be.

Hi
A very commonly asked question after having an ectopic pregnancy but difficult to answer. Let me give it a try  .
As so many people know that Ectopic pregnancy is “a pregnancy anywhere other than the normal site i.e. uterus”. It may be in fallopian tube (97%) or in ampulla; fimbira or it may be in abdomen or pelvis. The word “Ectopic” itself means “out of the ordinary location”.
The key points to answer the question are, for example, “Age, Number of Normal pregnancies, Number of Ectopic pregnancies, any associated anatomical abnormality in tubes or other reproductive system”
Previously, it was thought if a person had an ectopic pregnancy, then she will have it again and again. And the only recommended treatment used to be removal of affected part or tube including the ipsilateral ovary thinking that this is the abnormal site or is the only reason. But it is not done now due to new research or data available. The most important is to rule out the causative factor and among those is to find out if there is any “Anatomical or structural abnormality” and then correcting it if possible.
The role of contraceptives has been now established in conceiving ectopic. Why? Also still not fully understood but due to hormonal changes in normal Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Ovarian Axis. (Exogenous hormones verses Endogenous hormones) These hormones induce certain changes in on epithelial level or cellular level when taken and cause “Pseudo-pregnancy state”. This is the reason that a person does not conceive while having contraceptives because body is already pregnant ( a false interpretation due to increased level of hormones and endometrial changes in uterus)
When stopped, as in your case, there is increased chance of pregnancy and usually sudden. Now question is how these hormones play a role to have ectopic pregnancy? Do they produce changes which obstruct the normal flow or moving of egg or ovum to the right or correct site? Do they lead to premature fertilization? Is there any role on behalf of sperm?
So,honestly speaking, there is no direct answer to your question which can be 100% real and genuine. However if you suffer from “Pelvic pain, intermenstrual bleeding or spotting or you miss your periods or not any unusual finding related to your reproductive system” then you must contact your gynecologist. There are very advanced and accurate tests are available to detect it especially Ultrasonography is playing very important role in early diagnosis and treatment of it. Your doctor may advise you to few tests e.g. “Serum Progesterone or Serial Checking of HCG” if there is doubt.
Your slightly prolonged cycle may be a physiological response to prolonged ingestion of contraceptives and will be ok after some time. Some women do develop this after use of OCPs.

Now can you carry a normal baby?
YES, OF COURSE, DON’T WORRY. RELAX. THER ARE MILLIONS OF WOMEN WHO HAD ECTOPIC AND THEN CONCEIVED NORMALLY. So there is no need of being excessively worried or anxious but there is need to be in touch with your doctor
Regards:
