A lot of time seams to be wasted putting the latest BB nonsense on the news. Surely it has enough airtime without news companies updating us all on the latest vacuum to hit the screens.

Because it's nice to hear about the lighter side of life in the media sometimes. Yes there are more important things than this but they get there air time just the same, what is wrong with lightening up and not wanting to a anal retentive intellectual who has no sense of humour ( not to say all intelligent people are anal retentive, please don't misunderstand that) I love Big Brother and I'm also quite a bright & intelligent woman I like to keep up with current affairs national and international but what is wrong with also being interested in some light entertainment sometimes?

It's a sad commentary on the nation, If World War Three started tomorrow there would be people complaining if they cancelled Big Brother to extend the news.

Because it's utter rubbish and requires no thought at all.
Fortunately there is an off button on the remote. My thumb has a trigger action that would put "Billy The Kid to shame:-)!
But if people do like "Big Brother", I'd fight to the death, for their right to watch it...

because peoples lives are generally so humdrum and miserable the media think the general have nothing better to talk about. Also I'd say since the death of Diana people need a new "celebrity" to look up to-just look at the Beckhams over the years!!

Beacause sadly the tv channels are more interested in ratings instead of bringing quality news items to our screens. That would mean they would have to work harder, so they choose to raise the ratings by appealing to morons who watch the garbage! coz it is easier and probably cheaper.

to a pair human beings, massive brother is greater substantial than actual existence. of their unhappy lives, who gets thrown out of BB is greater information than looking the maintains to be of 5 toddlers at a jersey young toddlers homestead. yahoo tries to cater to everybody so it posts this rubbish

Because there are so many airheads out there who will watch crap like that.
And those people buy papers, watch TV, so the press will print more garbage about it to increase circulation/ratings.

A lot of people love this show and find it news worthy. Papers print what sells not things that will be historically significant.

I really don't understand that, I would'nt waste my time watching it, but some people are hooked on it, they even watch it during the day.
