well if a person is born with good vision and goes blind later in their liftetime they will be able see things in their dreams and they will see colors. if a person is born blind they would not be able to see colors in their dreams. but they would still have dreams. the human brain is very active and adaptive. a blind person would have to learn how to recognize things in real life and will have to use their brain and comprehend real life things. that would follow them into their dreams. .but he wouldn't see colors if he was born blind. it would be hard to describe what color is to a person who has never had vision before so it might be a challenge. it is easy for us to imagine colors bieing described because we have experienced them because we have sight. but yess they would have dreams but those dreams would be influenced by their real life. they would be blind dreams so to speak......if they were born blind. in real life you have 5 senses. sight, smell, hearing, touching, and taste. in your dreams those 5 senses are there too. if you were to lose one of those senses in real life you would still have the other 4. so in a dream they would still have the other 4. they would be able to smell, touch taste, hear but not see. it would be like a dream in a dark room you could feel the furniture and smell the food being cooked. and many of these dreams would be reflected off of places they have been and what they have an understanding of but it would be impossible for a blind person to invent a sense they have never had. you see when you dream those dreams come from your brain. everything you have expereienced and understand or thought of. but it would be hard to experience vision and colors in your dreams if you hve never experienced them in real life because your brain will not have an understanding of them. afterall that is how you learn is you 5 senses. if you you had no senses you would no nothing except what your body knows naturally i.e. (eat, sleep. ect ect). the only way they could experince them in their dreams is if they could have vision and colors described to them so they could imagine them with their brain and try to understand them. but that would be impossible because your brains imagination comes from your 5 senses. trying to explain what smell smells like to a person who cannot smell and never could smell would be impossible. your brain learns from experiences and understanding but until a person could experience sight they will not be able to understand it or imgaine it.
so if a person was born blind they will not have vision dreams......because there brain has never experienced vision and doesn't understand it. and they couldn't imagine vision because everything you imagine comes from what you have an understanding of and if you brain has never experienced vision then it will not understand vision. so it is impossible. it would be like tring to describe what sound is to a person who cannot hear or never could hear. there brain will not recognize sound being described to them because their brain has never heard sound. the same applies for a baby who a has never had vision. they will not be able to recoginze bsion being described to us because they have never had it. their brain has never experienced it. but we can. we can imagine a t.v. because we have either seen a drawing picture or a t.v. in real life or we have had it described to us. see but if somebody has never seen a t.v. or seen a drawing or picture of one they will not be able to imagine an accurate description of it. the only way to imagine one would be to tell the person that it is square and has a screen that has a moving image. but even then they will have had to see those other things and have an understandting of them. but with a blind person that will not work. you cant say well a t.v. is square and looks like a moving image......but then they would ask what is and image because they would have not ever seen an image......but do you seee my point.

Yes, blind people do have dreams. However, those blind since birth or very early childhood have no visual imagery in their dreams. Instead, they experience a very high percentage of taste, smell, and touch sensations in their dreams.
The breakdown is as follows:
There are no visual images in the dreams of those born without any ability to experience visual imagery in waking life.
Individuals who become blind before the age of five seldom experience visual imagery in their dreams.
Those who become sightless between the ages of five and seven may or may not retain some visual imagery.
Most people who lost their vision after age seven continue to experience at least some visual imagery, although its frequency and clarity often fade with time

Of course. If they were born blind, they would dream with their other sense much more akeen - be it sounds, touch, smell or taste. If they became blind later on in life, then they of course can dream with seeing.

Yes as they have REM sleep. If they had been sighted, the dreams can be visual. If they lost their sight very early, they dream in the form of the senses that they use to navigate and understand their world while awake.
