CAN ANYONE SUPPLY ME A COPY OF A WORKSHOP MANUAL FOR A SUZUKI 200 DR MOTORBIKE. IT IS AROUND A 1980 MODEL AND I SPECIFICLY NEED TO KNOW HOW TO RESET THE TIMING CHAIN AS I THINK IT MAY HAVE SKIPPED A TOOTH OR TWO. EVEN A A COPY OF THE PAGE WHICH SHOWS WHERE THE GEARS SHOULD BE. IE. A DIAGRAM OF HOW TO POSITION THEM FOR CORRECT ASSEMBLY. MANY THANKS....

Anyone attempting to work on their own bike should own a shop manual.

You can get a shop manual usually by simply posting a request in alt.binaries.e-book.technical. Also do a search with the P2P apps out there, and I have had some success with the torrent scene. It has been a while since I worked on a Suzuki, but do the timing gears on your bike not have the two dots stamped into the gears? If so line those up and you have it.If the chain was slack enough to let it slip a tooth make sure you replace it.With the piston at TDC are both valves shut? That will give you a clue.

Sounds like you already have the Hayne's, which is about as good as you're going to get. You can try to get the Honda shop manual from a Honda dealer but expect to pay over 100 dollars for it, and that's assuming they'll sell it to you. OE Manuals do not tend to contain much troubleshooting information, as they're sold to mechanics who should already know diagnosis procedures. They usually offer only exploded views and procedures for repairs/adjustments of specific parts.
